Blood Moon
The clouds were eerily still
Nothing moved in the sky
No people were outside save a few young children
As if everything was on pause that night
Eager to see the blood moon.
I felt a slight ting of shame for drinking
Mixed with a little glee from an unusual rendezvous with an unusual crew.
It was early spring
The days swapped between chilly mornings and warm, sunny days
The ever threat of a midday thunderstorm.
I walked the silent streets with my faithful companions
Wondering what could happen next…
